Hello and Welcome!
As a new member of the team you will be confronted with many new things in the coming days, weeks, and months. While we may be decentralized, central office and school based staff work together to ensure a smooth transition and are always here to help.
Our job, here at Central Office, is to take away the worry of being an “employee” so that you may concentrate on your new position and ultimately, the students.
At Central Office we’ll do: and tell you about:
First: Employment Paperwork
Diana Kelly, our HR Assistant, will guide you through that process. Depending on your position, the process may include but is not limited to:
Next: Central Office orientation.
New TEACHER SU orientation is on Tuesday, August 9, 2016

Each meeting is in the Central Office Meeting Room at 10 AM.
At the orientation we will cover:
New employees may be entitled to a variety of benefits. The benefits available depend upon several factors such as full time equivalency (FTE), school, and position. Germaine Cross, your Benefits Coordinator, will assist you in making appropriate choices.
Attending the group orientation meeting is highly recommended. However, if you are not able to make that pre-appointed group meeting, please call Germaine to schedule an individual appointment.
We will review options, discuss costs, complete the necessary applications, and answer any question you may have.
Your payroll officer will share the payroll schedule and an overview of the process and common practices. You will also be given a Direct Deposit Authorization form.
Portal and SU website review
Each school’s website homepage has a link to their employee portal. The employee portal is where you can access pay information, update demographic information, your attendance and more. We will review registering and using the portal. The SU’s site has other employment links, we will review these also.
Purchasing and payables
The accounting department will review processes including reimbursement, professional development and technology purchasing. You will be provided with a brief overview of the accounting practice as a whole.
